How it works
A delivery arrives as a truckload and leaves as a documented consignment. Six stages sit between those two points. Every one of them writes to the same record.
Documentation is only worth what the process behind it is worth
A record is only as good as the process behind it. Ours is written by the equipment as the crop moves through the line, so what a buyer reads is a measurement taken off the finished crop.
GANT works the other way round. The identity of a lot is created by the weighbridge and enforced by the processing line, so a record cannot describe a batch that was never handled that way. The scoring methodology, the risk models and the underlying data architecture are proprietary and documented in the technical materials we share with reviewers under agreement.
From weighbridge to delivered container
Intake and identity
Each truck crosses a weighbridge and is logged against the delivering grower before anything is unloaded. Weight, moisture, crop type and time of arrival are captured at that point, and the load is issued an identifier that will follow it for the rest of its life in the facility. Nothing is combined with another delivery to create it.
Processing under interlock
Drying, pre-cleaning, de-stoning, grading and optical sorting run as a controlled sequence. Once a lot enters a line, the control system holds every other gate closed against it until that lot has cleared, so two growers' crops cannot be mixed by accident or by shortcut. The constraint is mechanical, so there is no procedure to skip on a busy day.
Quality verification
After processing, instrument readings and optical sorter outputs are taken and attached to the lot. Size uniformity, colour integrity, moisture, foreign material and protein are measured directly off the finished crop. The attributes that matter differ by crop, because what a canner values in a green lentil is not what a protein extractor values in a yellow pea.
Listing
The verified lot is listed with its measured attributes visible to buyers. A recommended price is generated from those attributes and the live commodity benchmark for that crop, and the grower sets the final asking price within the platform's framework. GANT does not set prices and does not take title to the crop.
Trade and settlement
Bids are screened before funds move. A trade that fails the corridor assessment does not clear. Once a bid is accepted, settlement is handled through a regulated fintech partner so the grower is paid as soon as the sale completes, and the buyer settles without a correspondent banking chain sitting in the middle.
Export and delivery
Consignments are packed, sealed and despatched with the documentation a European importer needs, including phytosanitary and origin records tied to the same lot identity created at intake. Condition and position are monitored in transit, and the buyer receives the complete record with the goods.
What a buyer can actually see
The measured history of the consignment in front of them, taken on that consignment, by our own equipment.

Single origin, and what that covers
Our record begins at the weighbridge. From the moment a load is weighed and sampled, everything that happens to it is measured by our own instruments and stays attached to the lot. One farm per lot, held apart through processing, with the quality figures taken on the finished consignment.
What we do not hold is the field. There are no seed certificates here, no planting records and no agronomic history, and GANT is not an audited identity preservation programme in the sense the certification schemes use that term.
So if your specification calls for certified organic, non-GMO certification, an allergen declaration or seed grade, you need a dedicated audited programme, and we will tell you that instead of taking the order.
For everyone else, this is the whole proposition. Single origin and measured quality, at a landed cost that stands against conventional supply.
