About GANT
A single-origin pulse processing and trading business, built on one idea: that what a buyer reads should be what the equipment actually saw.
A processor first, and a platform because of it
We run the building. The crop is weighed, dried, cleaned, sorted and stored by our own team on our own line, which is why the quality figures we publish come from our own instruments.
The platform grew out of that. Holding the intake point is what makes a record worth trusting, and everything above it, the exchange, the settlement layer and the intelligence, stands on that single fact.
Software on its own cannot undo what happens the moment a load is tipped into a shared bin. So we started at the bin.
Where this came from
GANT Exchange was born out of a simple frustration with how little anyone in the food chain can actually say about where a pulse crop came from.
The people who carry the most risk growing it have no way to show what they produced. The people buying it at the other end have no way to check what they received. Both meet at the same moment, when a delivery is tipped into a shared bin and stops being anyone’s crop in particular.
We built GANT to close that gap where it opens. A certificate issued afterwards only paints over it.
Why our logo is a coin standing on its edge
For centuries, silver could be shaved from the rim of a coin in transit and nobody would know. The face still looked right. The head, the date, the lettering, all present and correct. Only the weight told the truth, and by then the coin had passed through a dozen hands.
The answer was to mill the edge. Fine ridges cut around the rim, so that anything taken shows at a glance. The coin stopped depending on trust and started carrying its own proof.
Pulses have the same problem. A consignment can be blended down, topped up or quietly exchanged for something cheaper, and the bag will still weigh what the paperwork says. Our mark is the milled edge, because the edge is the part that does the work.
How the business is organised
| Entity | Role |
|---|---|
| GANT Limited | The parent company, registered in Scotland as Global Agritrade Network Technologies Limited, company number SC905163. Holds the platform, the technology and the commercial relationships, and is where the London team will sit. |
| GANT Canada | The planned Saskatchewan operating subsidiary. It will own and run the processing facility and employ the operations team on the ground. |
| GANT Exchange | The trading platform and the brand the business operates under. A trademark held by GANT Limited, with no separate legal identity of its own. |
How we make decisions
Every figure is measured
Each number in a lot’s record comes from an instrument or a weighbridge. Nothing is typed in after the fact.
One corridor, run properly
Saskatchewan to Europe has our whole attention, and it shows in how well that route runs for the people on both ends of it.
Neutral in the trade
GANT does not take title to crop and does not set prices. Growers price their own lots. Standing outside the trade is what makes the quality signal worth reading.
Traceability without the surcharge
Verified crop should land at a cost that stands up against conventional supply. We work to that number.
